WinGate Requirements:

For WWW browsing:

wingate200090000.gif Make sure you have a WWW Proxy running. Check which port it is running on.

wingate200090000.gif Make sure the SOCKS server is running, and you have DNS working on your LAN

For Sending Email

wingate200090000.gif Mapped link to mail-forwarding (SMTP) server, accepting connections on port 25.

Pointcast Setup:

1. From within the PCN browser, hit the 'Options' button to bring up the "Options" dialog box.

2. Select the "Internet" tab. In the 'Connect using:' options, within the 'Internet Settings' area, select "Direct connection (non-modem)".

3. In the "SMTP Server:" field, within the 'PCN Browser Settings' area, enter 'wingate'.

4. Select the "Proxies" tab. In the HTTP FTP and Secure proxy fields enter 'wingate'

5. In the "Port:" field for all these proxies, enter the port number that the WWW proxy in WinGate is configured to accept connections on. This is usually 80.

6. In the "SOCKS Host:" field enter 'wingate'.

7. In the "Port:" entry at the end of this field, enter the port number that the SOCKS proxy in WinGate is configured to accept connections on.

The rest of the PCN set up does not relate to WinGate.
