Configuring Novell Netware TCP/IP client to attach to a Wingate Server.

You must be utilizing the most recent version of the ODI VLM client to in order to configure the TCP/IP client. You can download all of the files that are required from Novells FTP site. Make sure your ODI drivers are loaded and you are attached to your Netware Server. You must acquire the file VLMKT6.EXE. Place this file in a temporary directory and expand it. Run the install.exe file and follow the on screen instructions. You must provide the workstation IP address (ie. 192.168.0.2 etc). When asked if you have a Domain Name Server, answer yes. Enter wingate as the name and the IP address of the Wingate gateway machine as the IP address. When asked if you have subnets,

answer yes and enter 255.255.255.0 as the address.

After the completion of the install program, edit the net.cfg file and remove the line that reads: Protocol IPX 800 Ethernet_II.

Create a hosts file in the \net\tcp subdirectory. Add the following two lines:

192.168.0.1 wingate

192.168.0.2 machine name (whatever network name you assign to this pc)

Use the IP addresses you used during the install program for these entries.

Reboot your machine.
