Introduction to GateKeeper

GateKeeper is the user interface for WinGate. It is used for all operations on WinGate, all administration tasks, and any configuration you may do. GateKeeper has been designed to be easy to understand and use. You will find that some parts of GateKeeper are very similar to that of the NT user manager, including Users and Groups.

GateKeeper is divided into two main sections. The Activity pane on the left, and the Configuration section on the right.

The four Buttons on the Tool bar are:

Clicking this brings up the logon screen with the user name and server details last used, or logs you on directly.

Clicking this to log off.

This button brings up your online options. Press this while logged on to find out what server you are logged on to, or to change the logon options for the next time you log on.

This button saves changes to disk when pressed.


First logging on to GateKeeper:

To first log on with GateKeeper follow these steps.

1. Run Gatekeeper

2. You will be presented with a dialog box

3. Use these options for the first log on. Click OK

4. You will be asked to change your password: enter your password in the Password and Confirm Password fields

5. Click OK

6. You are now logged on

Note: User names and passwords are case sensitive.
