Email options in the installer

This topic is a rather wordy in the installer. Basically you have several options:

Use WinGate directly when sending and receiving email

Use an email server on your LAN

Not configure WinGate for email

If you want to use the standard configuration:

Type in the name of your email server into the top field. This will usually be the name of your ISPs email server, e.g. mail.server.com . If you are unsure of your SMTP server name, check in your email program. If you still can’t find the name, simply enter ‘mail’ or similar in the field. If you do not put anything in this box, the SMTP mapping will not be installed.

Check the “install a POP3 Proxy’ option

If you have an email server on your LAN, click the advanced button on the dialog. Further help in available from there.
