What is eScan?
eScan is an advanced, integrated Anti-Virus and Content Security solution.

How is eScan different from other Anti-Virus products?
Whilst you can purchase a wide variety of Anti-Virus products for your Desktop, Notebook and Server platforms (other than a handful of products designed specifically for Mail Servers), none of them have the Content Security capability. Today, this leaves a gaping hole in the security of your Desktop and Network that are often exploited by the hackers. Whilst the other products scan the files, the boot sectors, etc. for viruses, eScan also scans all the attachments besides the e-mails for viruses, plus it does content scanning. And all this is done on a 'Real-time' basis! More recent versions of some Anti-Virus products claim to scan your e-mail messages. However, what most of them do is scan the e-mails after they are downloaded into your Inbox. This can be way too late, as any virus can activate as soon as it arrives in the Inbox. eScan scans your e-mail messages BEFORE they are downloaded and arrive in your Inbox.

Can I install eScan on a stand alone computer?
Yes. Both eScan Virus Control and eScan Professional are intended for stand alone machines..

What is the difference between the Demonstration or Evaluation version of eScan and Fully Licensed eScan software?
The two software are actually identical. However, without a Licence Key eScan will expire (stop working) after 15 days from installation.

Yes. The eScan software is now compatible with Terminal Server.

When you access a Windows2003 machine through RDP you are logged in as the same user but onto a different session. The current logged in user is not logged off as in XP. To get around this issue, please use the following command to remote desktop into the machine:

  1. Goto Start>>Run.
  2. Type in "mstsc -v <server-ip> /console" and press OK.
